2nd Annual Riverside Kayaking Regatta

McCormick Woods North | 1st Avenue & 31st Street | Riverside 60546 |
July 28, 2018
Lifelong resident Scuff Gross served the Township of Riverside over 40 years and the Lions Club for over 60 years. He passionately loved being on the water. In his honor anyone is invited to take part in kayaking the Des Plaines River and enjoying the natural resources throughout the Village of Riverside.

Participants will meet at McCormick Woods. North East at 31st and 1st Ave. From there paddle south and wrap around the village, congregate at the Swan Pond area to regroup, then pass under the Swinging Bridge as a close group. Exiting the River will take place at Stony Ford Canoe Landing 43rd & Oak in Lyons. The buddy system is suggested for both the water and transportation from the end point back to the starting point. Participants are responsible for their own equipment, safety, and following IDNR rules.

Those without watercraft are encouraged to spectate on bridges at Forest Ave, Barrypoint, and most scenic the Swinging Bridge.
