Urban Local Made

Call for Art, Crafts, & Functional Objects

Visit Oak Park announces the launch of a Local Artisan program, presenting a curated collection of artwork, objects and gourmet edibles of varied price points that cater to the tastes and interests of both tourists and the local community.

Chicago-area artisans whose work is of museum-quality or otherwise exhibits a modern aesthetic with a focus on regional themes are invited to submit proposals.  The selection committee seeks demonstrable tie-ins to communities within our service area or the city of Chicago whether through iconic architecture/design, transportation systems, notable figures, local sourcing and production, etc.

Proposals may include, but are not limited to: functional objects for the home, decorative accessories, jewelry, apparel, notecards, fine art/prints ($250 or less), holiday, and artisanal-crafted (shelf-stable) foods.  While primarily interested in proposals for artist consignments*, Visit Oak Park will also consider submissions for wholesale partnerships with local makers.

Selected artists will be featured in a four-month display at the Visitors Center, plus receive additional promotion through the Visit Oak Park website and social media, and Local Artisan marketing campaign.
